Can I cut my crock pot recipes in half?

It’s just me and my husband, and though we like making things in the crock pot, some recipes just make SO MUCH and we get tired of the leftovers and they go to waste. Can I cut my crock pot recipes in half and still use the same size crock pot? Do I have to cut down the cooking time at all?

Also i read you cook the food your self. I am not very god at cooking stuff, how does this work. Do you fry it? or what.
