Messiahsking asked: Now if anyone was to go to China for example, their cultural belief is Buddhism. You are not allow to bring in other beliefs in which if you are caught, you are placed in their prisons. Each part of the world have people who have different cultural beliefs and yet most Americans don’t accept Christianity as their cultural belief. Why is it, that it seems we have become the melting pot of all world religions when none of them hold any truth for salvation?

Not really.
“Melting Pot” implies that all the different opinions are slowly merging into a homogenous single identity (that’s “the same all over”, for those of you in Rio Linda).
America is more like a salad — a petty, money-grubbing, vindictive salad; where all the ingredients are thrown into a single bowl without themselves being altered, and with all the flavors clashing with one another and striving for dominance.
Pretty much because we have a free choice of religion here. That is necessarily a good thing.
It is the one Satan fears most.
Perhaps Americans are getting smart about what salvation really means, and that Christianity is just another religion we have to deal with, told we need, and then we have to chase yall off with a stick.
Yes, Christians tend to be annoying, but there is hope they will wise up one of these days…
i think the UK is even worse for it, (the melting pot), but I dont think it matters as long as the truth is allowed to prevail some will find their way to the right road
Christians like christianity because the go to worship in Church just once every week. Americans are not serious about religion. Most of the time they do things that are against the teachings of Christianity.
Not as much as Canada, Australia etc.
I think you are confused. China plays host to every world wide religion. The People’s Republic of China was established in 1949. Its government is officially atheist, which viewed religion as emblematic of feudalism and foreign colonialism.
Religious belief or practice was banned because it was regarded as backward and superstitious by some of the communist leaders, from Vladimir Lenin to Mao Zedong, who had been critical of religious institutions.
In October 2007, the new statute of China cites religion as an important element of citizens’ life. Falun Gong and Xiantianism are the only banned faiths in China today.
I do not believe in forcing truth to those who will not listen, Christ told us if a town does not listen, then dust your sandals and go to the next.
America is not the melting pot of religion. For example Christians do not accept the teaching of budda, or hari krishna into their beliefs.
America is one of the nations, that chooses not to harm others because of differences in understanding God. And that is the right thing to do, because only Christ can judge, not us.
Somewhat, but we are much more ethnically diverse than religiously.
I guess it’s the freedom aspect that makes us so attractive, and it has its appeals, for sure. The problem is that the two greatest religions are both proselytizers, though one is by example and lovingkindness, and the other by lies and by force.
I accept Christianity as my cultural belief, and greatest blessing. But since the birth of humanism, and atheism, there is such an escalation of hostility against our religion that many of us have just given up. Those of us who still believe, or believe that we believe, have been argued out of supporting religious exclusivism, because for some reason, brilliant Christian minds just go to mush when debating against the disingenuous, distracting and deceitful arguments of those who oppose our faith at almost the molecular level.
They toss us a red herring of a question that is at best tangential to the point at issue, and we chase it until we are so befuddled we can hardly comprehend how we lost, when in fact, we never truly engaged. They have attacked us for nearly every facet of our lives, in a concerted effort to diminish us, and it has driven us out of schools, public office and many daily activities which are integral to the practice of our faith. And we have let them do it, drive us all but underground again. Worse, they are deprogramming our children in school, so our numbers decline every year, and still we have let them do it, not to appear parochial or unworldly, in despite of Paul’s admonitions to our early brethren.
We succumbed to peer pressure and false arguments based on a lie, and haven’t yet been bright enough to see how we are losing our country, through the fallacy of freedom of religion, which the godless have changed to freedom FROM religion, almost without resistance.
I believe the only reason the founding fathers didn’t make Christianity in general the national religion, is that they never dreamt it would come to that. Though diverse, and occasionally argumentative about it, the original colonists were almost without exception of some Christian faith, and I think they just didn’t want to pick a particular denomination. I don’t think they even considered the possibiilty of the advent of non-Christian peoples. Especially, I don’t think they foresaw the plague of atheism, the acolyte of “higher science.”
Sad, isn’t it? Yet how could they have foreseen the assault that has taken place upon our faith in the past 250 years?
